Jenny DeMelo: I am a graduate student at Westminster College, studying secondary education. My content area is social studies, so I hope to eventually teach government, history, and geography to either junior high or high school students. Since this is a tech blog, here is an interesting factoid...I didn't learn how to use a computer until I was 25 years old. During my undergrad I applied for an internship in Washington DC. On the advice of my internship advisor, I put down on my application that I knew Word Perfect, but I had no idea what Word Perfect was. When I ended up getting the job, I had to ask the secretary how to turn on the computer in my office (yeah, that was embarrassing). I've had quite a journey since then and now consider myself especially tech savvy. I’m looking forward to learning about the latest innovations in educational technology, and how I’ll be able to utilize them in my future classroom.
